Tricolour Jelly Dessert (Independence Day Special) Recipe. In this recipe, I will show you how to make Tri colour Jelly at home with the help of minimum ingredients. It’s the 70th Indian Independence Day on 15th August 2017, how about making a dessert for the special day representing Tricolored Indian Flag. I am sure you will love this Jelly dessert and especially your kids. Try this Kids’ favourite Jelly at home and surprise your kids. I have used Agar-agar Powder, a vegetarian alternative to Gelatin. You can add food colour & essence of your choice to make this Jelly. You can use Pista or Kiwi Food colour for Green and Mango or Orange Food Colour for Orange layer.
Ingredients:
- for Green Layer
- 1 cup water
- 1 & 1/2 tsp. Agar-Agar Powder
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Green Food Essence (Pista/Kiwi)
- 4-5 drops Green Food Colour
- for White Layer
- 1 cup Milk/Coconut Milk
- 1 & 1/2 tsp. Agar-Agar Powder
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
- for Orange Layer
- 1 cup water
- 1 & 1/2 tsp. Agar-Agar Powder
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Orange Food Essence (Mango/Orange)
- 4-5 drops Orange Food Colour
Instructions:
- Green colour Jelly
- Take 1 cup water at room temperature, sprinkle agar-agar powder and mix well.
- Cook on low flame till it starts boiling, stir continuously.
- After agar-agar powder dissolved completely, add Sugar.
- Stir until Sugar dissolves completely.
- Switch off the gas when sugar dissolved, add 4 – 5 drops of Green Food Colour & ½ tsp. Essence.
- Mix well and pour the mixture in glass/cup.
- Add 2 tbsp. of this mixture in each glass to create green Jelly layer.
- Keep it aside for half an hour until set.
- White colour Jelly
- Take 1 cup Milk at room temperature, sprinkle agar-agar powder and mix well.
- Cook on low flame till it starts boiling, stir continuously.
- Add Sugar after agar-agar powder dissolved completely.
- Stir until sugar melts completely.
- Switch off the gas and add the mixture in the glass to make the second layer of Jelly.
- Add 2 tbsp. of the mixture in each glass to create a 2nd white colour layer of the Jelly.
- Keep it aside for half an hour until set.
- Orange colour Jelly
- For the third layer, take 1 cup water at room temperature, sprinkle agar-agar powder and mix well.
- Cook on low flame until it starts boiling, stir continuously.
- Add sugar after agar-agar powder is dissolved completely.
- Stir until sugar melts completely.
- Switch off the gas and add 4 – 5 drops of orange Food Colour & ½ tsp. Essence.
- Mix well and pour the mixture into the glass.
- Add 2 tbsp. of this mixture in each glass to create a 3rd layer or Orange Jelly.
- Keep in refrigerator for half an hour until set.
- After half an hour, Tricolour Jelly Dessert is ready to serve
- Serve chilled.
